Wonder of Bangladesh

The Sangsad Bhaban (Parliament House) at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka is a wonder of modern architecture and technology. It is one of the largest and most spectacular parliaments building in the world. Originally designed by the famous American architect Louis I Khan, this 155 ft high 9-storey building is surrounded by an artificial lake called the Crescent Lake. The main section is hidden behind a strong outer covering with circular and triangular openings. The structure has 1605 doors, 335 windows, 365 ventilators and corridors totaling to a bewildering length of 41.6 kilometers. One could easily get lost in these deceptive corridors. The house has 354 seats for MPs, 56 for guests, 40 for journalist and 430 for spectators. It has also three party rooms each of which can seat 153 people. The whole place is air-conditioned and includes all modern amenities. Although construction work on this structure started in 1964, it was finally inaugurated in 1982 and the first parliamentary session was held on 15 February the same year. Being a highly complex structure, its annual maintenance cost is about 50 million taka. This is truly a wonder for a developing country like Bangladesh. At present, two formal prime ministers of Bangladesh are in two separate sub jails for corruption which are situated at the Sangsad Bhaban premises. We see a huge number of spectators at Sangsad Bhaban every holiday.

Jokes

College Writing:
A visitor to a certain college paused to admire the new Hemingway Hall that had been built on campus."It's a pleasure to see a building named for Ernest Hemingway," he said."Actually," said his guide, "it's named for Joshua Hemingway. No relation."The visitor was astonished. "Was Joshua Hemingway a writer, also?""Yes, indeed," said his guide. "He wrote a check." Why must we learn this? One day our professor was discussing a particularly complicated concept. A pre-med student rudely interrupted to ask, "Why do we have to learn this pointless information""To save lives." the professor responded quickly and continued the lecture.A few minutes later, the same student spoke up again. "So how does physics save lives?" he persisted."It keeps the ignoramuses like you out of medical school," replied the professor.

Tiger hunting through using mobile phone

No high ranged shooting rifle, no dart song, no tranquilizer, even no shore-bow, simply a ringtone of mobile phone can protect a person from the attack of a ferocious tiger. Such type of circumstance has occurred in Gujarat of India recently. Villagers of Gujarat are making the tigers confused through using the ringtones of the sounds of domestic animals such as cow, goat etc and driving the tigers faraway from the village. Even forest guards are confining tigers very easily through playing ringtone in cages. So, mobile phone is a great arm of tiger hunting.

Valuable comments on AIDS in Bangladesh

Sultana Kamal
Executive Manager
Law and Order Centre, Bangladesh
We have to realize that we can be affected by AIDS. We are talking about 1% probability of affecting by AIDS but it is a huge amount for a country of 15 corer people.
Rebeka Sultana
National Professional Personnel, UNFPA
If we think why AIDS is so risky in Bangladesh we will see that every sex employee of several hotels do sex with almost 44 customers every week and only 4 part of them use condom.
Afsana Taher
Operation Manager, UNFPA
Generally the risk of AIDS exists mostly in the figure of drag addicted. They are allocating this risk among us through a network. May be they do not know what they are doing.
Dr. Julia Ahmad
Vice Executive Manager
Bangladesh Women Health Coalition
Female condom is not available in Bangladesh because its marketing is so expensive in Bangladesh. If authority invests in this sector it will be available for everybody.
A K M Mahfuzul Haq
Additional Chief- Police Invigilator
Every police should keep them out of negative behavior. For this reason some changes in law and order are needed. Otherwise police have nothing to do in spite of their better willing.

Love to Beautiful Bangladesh

Being flood, drought, overflowing.
Being sad, decrepitude, suffering.
Our country is full of respiration and affluence notwithstanding.
Farmers are busy in farming.
Poets are eventful in green poem writing.
Villages are brimful with shadow and raining.
Homogeneous Bengalis say we can do framing.
Several religious societies have side by side living.
We are being of the same shape with our beauty which is mind-blowing.

Yes, this is the Foy’s Lake of Bangladesh

Foy’s Lake has been constructed with the great combination of wonderful natural beauty and ultramodern entertainment system. Genuineness of the beauty of nature is here. The role of Foy’s Lake to reach travelers much more nearer to nature is excellent. Assam Bangle Railway Sadder Daptar of Chittagong was established on 1890.Pahartoly Workshop and Chittagong Railway Pahartoly Residence area became the central point of Assam Bangle Railway. Digging deep tube well for lifting up water was much more difficult in Chittagong because it is hilly district. For this reason, people of this district were facing water problem. Assam Bangle railway took initiative to solve this problem on 1925. On that time, this beautiful artificial Lake was constructed in wonderful natural environment according to the plan and design of English architect Mitt Foy. This lake was mainly constructed to provide water for railway. This lake was constructed by using the hills of every side as receptacle of water and building resistance on inclined vale of two sides. This lake has been named Foy’s Lake according to the name of architect Mitt Foy. At present, Bangladesh Railway is the owner of the properties of Foy’s Lake. On 2004, Foy’s Lake was constructed as suitable for travelling according to a contract among Bangladesh Railway, Travel Corporation and leading Concord Group. Constructing an internationally standard park, adventure world, research tower, animal corner, echo tic corner, water park etc are in these projects. Concord Entertainment Company thinks that travelling and entertainment can give mental tranquility to the people.

Six important tips of studying difficult subjects

All subjects are not equally interesting to the students. Students sometimes become afraid of some particular subjects. To some Mathematics is difficult, to some English is difficult, to some Economics is difficult etc. Generally, the difficult subject remains difficult for the whole semester/year. When examination approaches then afraid students perform poor in the examination. No student can avoid reading the so-called difficult subjects. He/She will have to read them, understand them and cross the hurdles of examinations.
The following tips might be helpful in managing the studying difficult subjects: Firstly, please remember that no subject is difficult. The subjects were written and developed by humans like you. You only have to read and understand them. Why should it be difficult?
Secondly, read the difficult subject from the very beginning of the semester/year. Do not keep them untouched day after day. Be aggressive in understanding them and this will help you get rid of fear of the subject and you will feel confident in course of time.
Thirdly, read the difficult subjects repeatedly. Reading one particular chapter once, twice or thrice might not be helpful. Read them as many times as you need.Fourthly, read several books on the subject. It often happens that one particular book cannot give you clear concept. So, reading several books can help you to have mastery on the subject and the subject will no more be 'difficult' to you.Fifthly, read the most difficult subjects in a group. Group study always helps understand any difficult subject better. If a member does not understand a particular issue, other members of the group can help. Also, group study will keep you under pressure and you will feel inspired to read the subject at home. Sixthly, you can take help of your seniors and teachers. Definitely, they can be of great help to you in understanding difficult issues because they faced the same types of problems you are facing today.
So, every student should remember that nothing is impossible in the world. If you do not solve your so-called difficult problems in appropriate time it will become much more complicated to solve later.

Harassing Women Through Using Internet

Anamika, a meritorious sociology student, is a lively woman. Teachers like her because of her creativity. Classmates adore her as she is friendly to them. She is now in trouble.
One day Anamika (not her real name) receives a call on her mobile phone. "Are you free tonight? I want to be with you," asked the male caller. Anamika shouts at the man and puts the phone down in anger. After some time another man phones her with same proposal. Anamika could not understand anything about it. After a while when another call comes she wants to know the reason from the caller. The man replies, "It was you who gave an advertisement on the website seeking companion." She then tells the guy, "You are mistaken. I did not give such advertisement". But the phone calls keep coming relentlessly. Eventually, Anamika realises much to her surprise that in order to harass her someone known to her has given the advertisement providing all her personal information. The trouble proves to be too much for her and she has got psychologically devastated. Day by day she becomes quiet. After that she finds it difficult to put up with any outsiders. Over the time technology has developed a lot. And with this there have been new dimensions to harassment of women. It is seen women are harassed in many ways through Internet. Mailing with obscene comments, using women's faces in pornographic pictures are now a normal happening. Earlier women were troubled by telephones, but with the development of technology the harassment of women has been intensified. The number of perverted youths has increased at an alarming rate. This immoral addiction has been spreading faster than the drug addiction. Consider Arpita (again an imaginary name). She is an A level student. She is a great fun to everybody. One day she receives a phone call. Giving her a website address, the male caller says, "There is important information on the website. Have a look at this.
When asked what was that he says, "You will understand when you see for yourself." She opens the website to find her own face in a pornographic picture. Having looked at the picture, Arpita screams in disbelief. She cannot believe that her own face exists in that type of picture. She herself cannot imagine such a picture, let alone her own. Gradually, she became mentally ill.
Most of the countries across the globe can feel the necessity of formulating laws to stamp authority on Internet. Some countries already have formulated legislature. Cyber cafes of neighboring India already began to compile the personal details of the subscribers. China has enacted new law in 1996 to control the usage of Internet. The pornography in Internet was barred over there. In South Korea, there have been provisions of imprisonment and fine for the Internet users who engage in harmful activities to national security and for obscene purposes. Bangladesh would also be successful in stopping crimes and cheating in Internet by following the footsteps of other countries. But good will of all quarters is needed to do so.

Macro-economy facing challenging time

Macro-economy of Bangladesh is facing a challenging time due to high inflation and slow-down of overall economic activities following erosion of business confidence. "Bangladesh is now facing a very challenging macro-economic environment," said the Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), C. Dunn.He attributed the challenging macro-economic environment to the anti-corruption drive, uncertainty among the businesses, high international commodity prices, high domestic inflation and escalation of import costs.
So, our authority should take proper initiative immediately.

Current Economic Condition of Bangladesh

The economic situation of Bangladesh is motionless at this moment under the power of caretaker government. Recently, Chief Adviser (CA) Fakhruddin Ahmed said at a press conference that the country's current economic slowdown will be over as the interim government has already taken some measures, including formation of a private-public business forum, to address the situation. We are very much optimistic like our Chief Adviser to overcome our economic problem.

According to my analysis I am describing the problems of our economy, causes of these problems and the probable solutions of the problems consequently.

Problems of economy and causes of these problems

Mainly three vital problems are working behind the terrible situation of the economy of Bangladesh which are directly related to each other. These problems and the causes of these problems are:

1) Non-confidence to caretaker government:

Following reasons are responsible for non-confidence to caretaker government:

i) Some initiatives of caretaker government. Such as, breaking and ejecting the businesses of footpath and slums without any appropriate planning.
ii) Closing jute mils, fixing principles and action plans without any planning.
iii) Torturing businessmen by showing excuse of anticorruption.
iv) Creating fear in businessmen by National Board of Revenue and Anticorruption Commission.
v) Hindering the independence of newspapers.

2) Decreasing the investment of businessmen and investors:

Following reasons are responsible for decreasing the investment of businessmen and investors:

i) Businessmen and investors are not interested to invest in this country for the non confidence to caretaker government.
ii) Investing a huge amount of money earned by corruption is closed now for anticorruption initiative taken by caretaker government.
iii) Decreasing the purchasing power of micro businessmen by creating their unemployment. For this reason, investors are not investing in the country considering the lower purchasing power of consumers.
iv) Businessmen and investors are confused on the question that who is actually dominating our country among caretaker government, military government and international donor agencies? They do not know who is actually giving the direction of power.

3) Decreasing the purchasing power of general people:

Higher price of products in international market exists from previous two or three years. We can blame following reasons for higher price of products as well as decreasing the purchasing power of general people:

i) Destructive activities of immoral syndicates of the period of union government.
ii) Investors are not investing in country and showing signal that production will decrease in near future. For this reason, businessmen are not selling their products, storing products and creating shortage of products to earn more money.
iii) Production of rice is not as much as our expectation. Businessmen are not interested to import rice from abroad by investing a huge amount of money for the luck of confidence on caretaker government.
iv) Institutions are following the primitive institutional structure because care taker government has not taken any positive initiative to restructure institutional structures.
v) Price of products has increased for the hindrance of supply. So, people are facing the problem of inflation.

Solution of the problems

Following initiatives can be the solutions of the problems:
i) Caretaker government has to increase purchasing power of general people.
ii) Giving sufficient privileges to farmers to motivate them.
iii) Regaining the confidence of businessmen by taking rehabilitation project and other initiatives for micro businessmen.
iv) Shutting off the torture of police in market.
v) Ensuring the supply of food.
vi) Rejecting the restriction on news media.
vii) Ejecting the forbiddance on politics.
viii) Shutting off the tendency of taking financial assistance of donor agencies.

These initiatives will help caretaker government to regain the confidence of businessmen, investors and general people. For this reason, purchasing power of consumers will increase and the market will be moving.

Our caretaker government and amiable society are concerned about the present economic condition. Caretaker government has already taken some initiative to solve the economic problems which are good but not enough. Hopefully, we will overcome our economic problem very soon.
